chain case bearing failure

I have heard of chaincase bearing failures with a variety of low mileage readings. When wa sthe last time you checked the condition and volume of the chaincase oil? When you replace the bearing, the new one will have a seal on one side. The seal faces inside the chaincase. The purpose of the seal is to keep metallic debris from damaging the balls and races of the bearing. Make sure you pack the open side of the bearing full of grease when you replace it.
