Tonight i was putting my chain case back together and i checked it over and over and everythings in place i just can't get the reverse lever in there right its like its binding, is there a trick to putting it back, i can mover the track and secondary by moving it just can't get the lever to move to reverse? Thanks for any input. LaLaLa

I would say that the actuator that sits in the groove of the bottom gear is not in the groove. It's not engaging the reverse gear. When putting the cover back on pay close attention to the inside position of actuator, have it sit a bit above the bottom gear. Once you have the cover on try putting it into reverse before you install any bolts on the cover. The cover will move off with the lever. Then you know it's engaging. I hope this computes.

The shift fork is a pain but slip it on and try it with a couple bolts in before you go all out. Easier this way if its wrong, then tearing it all apart again.

Patience is the thing here. It may take several attempts before you get it right.
Similar to comments above, I found the reverse linkage inside the cover has to be in the "UP" position when reinstalling the cover.
Once you start to install the cover the linkage has to slide down(manually) and slip in the grove on the reverse gear. You know when it is hooked up correctly.

The description given by NLVMAX is very good - start in the full "up" position and gradually go down as the reverse linkage engages the reverse gear. Don't know if this picture will help, shows the reverse linkage when installed:
