I have just purchased a 2008 rt-x Nytro and wanted to change the chain case oil and check to see what gears were in it. It all came apart really good but now that i want to reassemble i can't get that reverse fork to go in the right spot! It is very difficult because you can't see anything just feel. Just when I think I have got it. i start tightening up a couple bolts and then i try to test the reverse lever and can't even move it, which tells me it is pinching the fork somewhere and obviously is in the wrong spot. I'm not even totally sure where that fork is suppose to go. I think it should go between the grooves on the shive with the spring, so that it pulls the drive gear out to line up with the reverse gear. This is very frustrating. I will Keep Trying. Day 2 Now. gggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :die :o|

Oh I feel your pain I had the same problem. From what I've read on here and what I did was drop in into the groove from above. I put that thing on and off at least 10 times before I got it.

I put it on slow and kept moving it down trying to find the groove, when I didn't find it I'd move it on further and try again, till I felt it fall into place.

I had a hell of a time with it, I hope it gets easier next time!

Practice practice practice. The first time I did it I had half the sled put back together before I thought of trying the reverse. DOH! I won't do that again. :o|

Been there...as mentioned you'll get it eventually. When I took my reverse linkage off, I removed the nut from the top of the linkage (up near the lever), then when reassembling, held the linkage just over the top of the connection point. As the cover almost hit home, I was able to wiggle the linkage a little down onto the reverse gear. Hope that made sense.

Well i think i got it FINALLY! now to put it all back together with some thread lock and taker for a spin. Oh and some oil haha.
