Hi guys,
I have an 07 Vector GT 1200 Miles. I went to chain the Chain case oil, and had a brain fart. For some reason I loosened the 10mm bolt directly behind the brake caliper. I had it about 1/2 out when i realized it was the wrong one. I put it back in but it doesn't tighten. Do i need to put Thread lock on it?
Thanks for your time

I don't understand as the brake is on top of the chaincase.

i think hes talking about this one, you dont need threadlocker for any of the brake stuff
if its not threading in your either a) not catching the thread inside the hole, in which case you need to loosen the other bolt to the left of it so it loosens the caliper so you can line up the other hole, retighten to 35 lbs
or b) youve stripped the thread, but unless you were cranking it extremely tight i dont see that happening, what do the threads on the bolt look like? you can take it out and look

Was thinking the same thing. That's the only bolt on the CC that uses a 10mm wrench if memory serves. I believe the brake caliper bolt needs a 14mm wrench.

i think hes talking about this one,
The bolt circled in red is a 14mm bolt that holds the caliper. Sorry but there is no way a 10mm bolt would have a torque spec of 35ft-lb.
I don't recall any 1omm bolts in the back of the chain case below the brakes but I have been wrong before. There are some 10mm bolts and nuts for the reverse linkage back in that area.

The small bolt on the chaincase cover that ultimately screws into the shaft that is attached to the inner chaincase half (it has the two small gears on it) is a 10mm. I was mistaken in an earlier post...on my 05 the brake caliper bolts are 12mm.
Put extrovert drivers on my 05 and put the chaincase back together yesterday. Will fire it up today and see if I made any mistakes!
Oh yea...my chaincase took 8+ oz of oil.

Never like to hear when a bolt won't tighten but it sounds like you are OK.
