Challenger or Backcountry on 09 XTX?

I am wanting to put a taller lug track on my XTX to get better off trail, deep powder performance. I am trying to decide between the 1.75" Backcountry or the 2" Challenger. I'm leaning towards the Backcountry, but really need some input from folks with more knowledge than me. Thanks for your help!

How much trail riding will you be doing? If quite a bit yet, go with the Backcountry, it is much stiffer and will hold to more abuse on the trails. The challenger pretty much only has 1.75" lug on it as the other .25" is the teeth on the tip of the lug. It is much more flexible, but will do quite a bit better in powder because it will not cut through and trench pthe snow as bad as the stiffer backcountry.

If worried about durability go with the Backcountry, if concerned not as much with durability but more deep snow performance go Challenger.

At least that is my opinion.

They are both sweet tracks. Camo is also selling a stiffened Challenger track now -- just FYI

I will probably install the track next weekend, but have two questions. Should I put extrovert drivers in, and should I re-gear? Seems like some people do neither with the backcountry, and some do both. Please let me know your thoughts - Thanks!

I would not bother with extroverts on an xtx, I am really not sure why everyone does. The xtx will not ratchet the track unless it is wayyyy too loose. And a loose tall lug track will kill speed. Run the track at the loose end of yamaha specs and your all set to go. Extroverts are uneffecient and require trimming your rails on the xtx. I will try running the backcountry with stock gearing and different clutching. If thats not to my liking I will regear to a 20 top.

I had the track rachet last year and everything was in spec.
