When at my dealer to get new inside wheels I put on some more stuff.
2 marginal wheel kits (was going to put a 3r on but he didn't have any more)
3 F-cat wheels (i think they are about 1.5" bigger)
2 arctic cat inside wheels (just temperary, he didn't have any '05 Yamaha wheels)
new graphite slides

I still fely like it was dragging for a while but once the slides wore down to where they should stop, i got much better.
now i need ice conditions to see if the wheels help out & I can beat my top end best.

*the inside AC wheels have about 100 miles on them and look good. the 2nd set of '06 apex wheels lasted 5 & 9 miles.

Looks good. Do you have your choice of where on the rails to mount the extra wheels, or are there set locations where these will fit? I would like to install my set (when they arrive) towards the center of the weight transfer rod as that seems to be the area of most wear. At least on my Attak thats where I would like to put them. Good luck. ;)!

MARGINAL WHEEL KITS

THE APEX GT MY WIFE RUNS ONLY SHOWS EXTREME WEAR AT THE BEND IN 600 MILES, OTHERWISE SLIDERS ARE FINE EVEN HAVING HAD TO RIDE ON DRY PAVEMENT IN CANADA WHEN A HEAVY RAIN WIPED OUT THE SNOW.
I AM RUNNING (2) OVERSIZE WHEELS IN REAR INSIDE WITH NO EVIDENCE OF WHEEL PROBLEMS AND SHOW NO EVIDENCE OF ANY PROBLEMS ON THE (4) INNER STOCK WHEELS. I AM HESITANT TO INSTALL OVERSIZE WHEELS ON THE INSIDE AS I DON'T BELIEVE YOU ARE DOING YOUR TRACK ANY GOOD HAVING IT PROTRUDE BEYOND THE SLIDE RAILS WHICH IT WAS DESIGNED TO RUN ON.
IN LOOKINGING AT YOUR PHOTOS AND IT APPEARS THE TRACK IS REALLY BULGED OUT IN THE AREAS WHERE THE OVERSIZE WHEELS ARE INSTALLED. TIME WILL TELL IF THIS WILL CREATE PROBLEMS UP THE ROAD.

Did you use the Arctic cat wheels in the rear? What diameter are they? Does the axle need to be relocated to run those wheels if they are that much bigger?

Thank you for the info 4-stroker but my post was originally for BA Apex. I think the bulging you are seeing in the track is from the track mat. The outside wheels lok as though they are the stock ones to me.

Won't need snow!

With all of those wheels, you won't need any snow! Just kidding, looks good and functional as well.

It's just the way the track is sitting on the mat I have in my trailer(old track lugs)

I think my dealer said they were F-Cat wheels, I would have to check with him to be sure. They went right on the shaft with stock spacers. I'm not sure of actual size but they were tight just to get them in, I'd say 1 1/2 inch or mor bigger.

the reason for all the wheels is that we (dealer & me) were going to try to get 120mph out of the stock sled & thought it may help with less drag on the suspension. now i need colder temps to tighten up the ice & we'll see

Yamaha worked hard to lose some weight, and you guys are adding things to bring it back up to RX1 weight.

My last set of sliders wore out right behind the back of the front 4 wheels.. KINDA WEIRD... as all my old yamaha sleds wore out in the very front of the slides where the bend is..

Yes, but when you are lsing speed because of the drag on it, then what's the point.

If I were to change just the four outside wheels by the bend and the two rear inner ones to Over Sized Wheels, would I have to change the wheels on the rear axle to over sized as well or could I leave those stock? In addition to those changes I will be adding the smaller wheels to go just behind the rubber stop as well. There is alot of drag, but I don't need to F%^&* anything else up by going with extra wheels and Over Sized Wheels and NOT changing any of the Rear Axle Wheels. What do you think, will it help reduce drag, slider wear and increase top speed, without hurting anything else on the rear skid? Any thoughts.....

not sure if changing the rear wheels is needed. I did cause if figured it wouldn't hurt.

actually every everytime his track goes around hes lossing weight, so after a few hundred miles the weight will be back to stock weight
