Was going to change my Hifax today and found out unless there is one window in that track that is big enough to fit the Hifax through you have to take the skid out. I am going to pull the skid to do this tomorrow unless someone enlightens me about an easier way to do this. The sled is a RS Vector Mountain.

Put a little nick in one of the windows...1/8 inch each side. People drill big holes in their tracks to lighten them up. A little nick won't hurt anything and will save a lot of time.

Use the search, I asked this only a couple weeks ago.

removing the suspension is only 4 bolts then pull it out. More room to work with when you can place it on a workbench or something. It will turn out much easier.

heat up a razor knife with a propane torch and make the windows bigger. this seals the cords. i did it to my track and it has 3200 miles on it and can barely figure out which windows are bigger.

No need to cut the windows larger.
The sliders can be twisted through them.

I just pulled the skid. One of the easiest skids I have ever installed. Maybe because I finally figured out the easy way to remove/install skids after I did it on my Polaris 4 times last year.

Removed a set of wheels and put on a set of scratchers. Let the weight loss begin...lost a whole .5 lbs. :D
