I'm having a hard time searching for information on how to change the drive belt on an 03 RX-1(method / tools, etc). Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks.
Thanks.
push in secondary cam, pull out belt, reverse for install.

Wow, that was fast!
No tools or adjustments required?

Do you have the service manual? It goes over the tension adjustments that must be done.

Yes, I have the Repair Pro manual. So if I'm reading it right the secondary sheave comes off by removing a few screws and you shim the screws with the new belt installed to get the height where you need it?

I've always found it quite difficult to remove the belt by pushing in on the inner sheave alone and then trying to get the belt off, works better once the belt is off as there is no room with the side panel on. Ulmer racing sells a belt removal device on their website in the accessories collumn, it really works well. You can also use a 12mm wrench to open the secondary by placing on one of the three outside nuts and simply turning clockwise. On the inside of the secondary, there are three bolts with washers to adjust the belt height in the secondary or to get rid of belt squeel. Washers on raises the belt in the secondary while washers off lowers the belt in the secondary.

If you cut a short section (3in) of your old belt, then place it on the top of the secondary clutch(under existing belt). Then push in on the helix part to force the the sheaves apart,as you push it apart the short section of belt will slide down towards the middle of the sheave. The short section of belt will hold the sheaves apart and you can easily change the belt.
once your done you can pull it out.
heres a quick drawing its kind of hard to explain
