while changing my track on my sled the driveshaft bearing was seized on the driveshaft on the clutch side. . I had to remove the bracket that holds the driveshaft bracket to the sled tunnel. I removed the four nuts on the bracket and drilled out the two pop rivets that hold the bracket in place. when installing the new bearing I used two bolts in place of the two pop rivets to hold the bracket in place. It was tricky getting the nuts to start on the inside of the tunnel but I was able to get the job done. anyone think this will be a problem, I dont think their are any clearance issues, just might be harder to replace the bearing the next time. the two pop rivets that held the bracket in place did not go through the bracket all the way. should have more support their now with the bolts. I might pick up two stainless bolts just so they dont rust down the road. anyone run into this problem. I could have used a bearing puller to remove the bearing but I did not have one at my disposal when I did the work, wondering why the factory did not use bolts in this location in the first place, maybe its easier on the assembly line to just pop rivet the bracket when it goes down the line.

It is just easier to rivet. I have had this problem with all of my Yamaha Sleds.

bracket
I already drilled the two holes out a little larger to accept a bolt around 1/4 inch. I guess I could put a rivet in their but it would have to be a large one. It is not a big deal to get my hand up in their to start the nut, just tight for space, thats all, should be ok, what does everyone think.

It should be fine, I would just check to make sure the track dont hit it.
you used a locknut, or at least locktite....then should be ok

used a locknut, any chance the track could hit the nut up inside, I dont think its possible that big drive wheel is in the way.

- 2016 RS Vector XTX 1.25 Lug wifes..2013 RS Vector LTX.. 2003 600 VMax Past Machines 3-2007 Attaks 1-2010 Vector LTX.. sorry no Stinkdoos or poo's cats.
I just picked up a 07 Attak GT with 800 miles on it and don't like the way they studded the track. I want to install a new track and use the old one on another Attak we have.
I've read and saved lot's of posts on changing bearings, etc.
Being it's only got 800 miles I figure I don't have to change bearing, seals ? So I would just have to take chain case cover off,top and bottom gears and chain. Then the Speedo bearing ( hopefully don't have to drill the rivets out). Take the shaft out of chain side and drop down and out ?
