I'm stuck as to how to get bearings off. It's the axle that attaches to the lower part of the tunnel that has Idler wheels on it. They hold the track away from the top of the rear suspension. Are they pressed on, and if so, how do I get them off. I have the new bearings to put on, is there a special way to get them on if in fact they have to be pressed off. Thanks, vmaxcraz

Yours is the mono-shock skid which you may be able to find microfiche info on the site. Mine is a pro-action skid which is different. My wheels come off by removing two lock collars at the ends of the shaft so the wheels slide right off. If you need me to, I can look in my performance manual. It has your skid. - Rich

Bearings were indid pressed on axle. I took axle with bearings on it to Great Lakes Motor Sports in Flint, mi. They pressed old bearings off and then pressed new bearings I had on axle. Total charge for the job... Two mountian dews. You can't beat service like that, they are good people to work with.

I just did mine and I can tell you what not to do. They are pressed on. I threaded the bolts in the holes and beat on it with a hammer so as not to mare the shaft end. The problem is that shaft is aluminum and the treads strip out. I tried to clean them up with a tap, but when I got it all back together it would not tighten. New shaft =48 dollars. I would like to hear the proper way of doing this also. Other manfs put a locking colloar on the bearing like they are suppose to. I bet the proper way is with some sort of puller.
