I was telling you to buy a aftercooler caus it alredy has the pitot tube
syst., and labyrinth plate... Take a look at one at least!.
I still bet on the "labyrinth" missing on your plenum causing your trouble
I designed a few systems myself and came across that problem.
To check slides( on dyno) drill a very small hole on one of your slides
on top of it, atach a short piece of safetywire, drill a very small hole
lined-up with wire on coresponding carb. slide cover, run wire thru hole
and voila! a slide dipstick!. Measure slide stroke, aply 2 drops of paint
on wire and you'll see slide travel. wen done, remove wire and epoxy
hole in cover...
Hope you understand my englitchhhhhhh

I have to go with Pete on the intercooler. It already has the pitot tube and plate in it and somone has put the hours into it to get the right enrichment. Moving the carb vents to the charge tube won't do anything unless you install a pitot tube facing towards the turbo compressor (preferably adjustable). The bowls need to see boost + pitot pressure created from the velocity of the charge tube under boost. Without the pitot tube there will be no enrichment under boost and the engine will go lean. It may show rich once in a while if it gets lean enough to drop a cylinder. Good luck Tom

Pressure tested plumbing Saturday night. There were no leaks in the carbs, tees, fittings or hoses. But i did find that the fuel pressure regulator was leaking quite a bit arround the threads for the pressure adjusting screw. Seald that up, but is was no help. I guess it is time to modify plenum or add in an intercooler.
Thanks for all the help.

Hey Rideblue...thanks for the pics. If you don't mind me asking, how much $$$ do you have in your set-up (parts only, no labour)?

The IHI turbo ran $150 from my local junkyard ($130 for rebuild kit if needed), fuel pump $150 from Napa auto parts, fuel pressure regulator $145, boost guage $90 and pyrometer $120 all from Summit Racing, REV 800 fuel tank $100 used, Bosch BOV $85 new $40 used.
I have changed the plenum to feed from the front through a "bell" shape to feed the carbs evenly, and i also moved the pilot tube for the float bowls to the charge tube. The lean condition is gone now. Just need to drop main jet size, mess with needle clip and do some short runs to check plugs. Thanks gimmeboost for all of the help.

RideBlue,
Hey not to down you there, it takes a lot of guts to
attempt something like this but with the heat from that
Turbo and being so close to the gas tank even with that
little bit of protection thats a time bomb if the plastic starts
to melt. Maybe a alluminum or galvanize shied would also
help.

Glad to help someone fix their problems . Now if I could only figure out why mine won't work right I'd be a happy camper ,Ken.
