Just wondering how to notice that the belt is worn. Put a new belt on my Apex and it started vibrating. Took apart the primary and secondary today to inspect the sheaves? and cant find anything wrong, the secondary looks fine and smoth, the same with the primary except for that just from the start both sheaves have a bump. Otherwise no more...

Couldnt excatly see, feel or measure any difference in the random place i took.

Im sure its either the belt or the sheaves on the primary or secondary, but what is it. The belt is what i know off new. And if my memory serves me right i tried changing back the belt and then the vibrating stoped.

Is there and bulletproof way to se or messure to get to the rot of the problem?

My spelling etc may suck, was quite the time since i last used english.

I rememberd i had this problem with my xtc, but there i could really feal and see that the primary sheave had a dent? in it.

well thats the thing, i remembered it as strongest when going slow. And incrising when accelarating.

But the weird thing is that i remembered it as i tried to switch back to the old drive belt and then it was gone...

only thing do is pull it on the grass and try shifting drive belt i assume or is there anyway do scheck all this?

Bad new belt? If you switched back to the old belt and vibration was gone then i try another new belt. Manufacturing defect in belt maybe??

Did you bring the beldt up to the top of the secondary when installing it before you tried engaging the clutch to take off.If not you probaly put a burn spot on the beldt because it was sucked down.

Nope didnt put it up. just ran with it as usual. allways worked with my 2strokes... But suppose your theory is duable, so i should feel or se some diffrence between the belts? cause cant se some.. But at low speed the machine skip forward, just like it cant grip.

as i said, cant find any on the sheaves, except that there is a litte raise at the start from the bottom in the primary but my memory says it use to be like that.... Anyway that cant be, because its allways there regarding speed etc... if it still would be the sheaves, then they where to have the same cut all the way.

someone mentioned bearing, if so could only be the one behind the secondary i guess? But again, it stops if i put on the old belt.. atleast im 100% on that the vibrations started the exact moment i put on the new belt.. so im gonna stick with trying a new belt...

Just sucks that the battery is dead and its parked way in the barn behind other sleds and its summer so need to run on the grass.. a lot of mess just for something that so easy in the wintertime :P

Remove the beldt and look on the sides you will see about a 2" spot on it if happend what I described in the upper post.I have seen this happen many times by people just getting the beldt over the secondary but not working it to the top before they use it for the first time. The clutch will act as ifts partly shifted out already. It would be like taking off in 3rd gear in a car vs 1st.
