Chisels on trails?

I'm considering switching studs this year to longer chisels. I'm currently running 162 1.325 Woody's Gold Diggers. Has anyone run chisels on the trails? If so, what brand and how do they hold up? Thanks in advance for any input.

I run 162 1.375" StudBoy PowerPoints in a 2-4-2-4 pattern. Hookup is great, some ski push in corners when snow is loose on top and hard underneat. I have them on both my sleds, have only broken one stud in the last two seasons. I have bent a few more, but the trails I ride have rocks all over the place due low snow conditions.

I would think you would dull the chisels in a hurry. I have never seen a carbine tipped chisel. They are designed for ice, not rocks. You would probably spend allot of cash on them just to wreck them in a few rides, if not in one ride. IMHO.

As 1CrazySledder says. How is your riding conditions? Are you going to dragrace a lot on glare ice, if so go with chisels for the hookup.
For normal all around trail riding (spesially on low snow conditions) studs with carbide center and tip will last way longer than than the chisels.

The chisels will wear very fast.Don't do it.

I tried the chisels once and they were ruined in less than 50 miles of good trail conditions.I wont put them on a trail sled again.
