on a sled that you would not want to travel farther than you can walk....

He is usually on a M Series Cat. Who cares what he is riding though... he does amazing things with a sled.RJH said:on a sled that you would not want to travel farther than you can walk....

I'm a novice at best... there was NOTHING in that video that I can even imagine myself doing.
Not sure on the whole story, but he is no longer with cat, went to polaris for this season.

Very talented! Still not sure what the point of that type of riding is. Guess it's because i'm use to rock hard hook-up in Wi. Hard twisty trails from point A to B, VS Playing in feet of powder on a mtn, big difference. Glad i never tried it and got hooked like some of my friends did, i can't afford to go out West and/or buy a mtn capable sled. I can also see where you'd need the power and need it light too. Looks like it's a workout. Pretty cool stuff, i don't watch a lot of that mtn stuff, may have to now.
It all depends were you live, grow up, etc. I couldnt image sitting down for hrs, riding a trail. The short trails we have to ride to the alpine is mind numbing for me. Its is sure a change to ride thru the trees, I think Chris is likely the best one out there right now. Anybody can ride there sled up a big open face, or try. But tree riding is another fun part of the sport, well till you get stuck. Try a TRX1 thru the trees, its an eye opener.

I wrote that very poorly. It is a lot different then around here. Over 6" of snow with no dirt or rocks showing is a lot different for me, lol.RED said:It all depends were you live, grow up, etc. I couldnt image sitting down for hrs, riding a trail. Speaking of that, do the Mtn guys ever rip their tracks off with all that HP and track spin, hitting hidden rocks, stumps, etc? I cringe when i watch one of those videos. I think others from Wi. may know what i'm saying. If you pull off trail here to turn around or something, start spinning your track, about to get stuck, you will dig down to rocks, dirt, stumps, etc.

Wonder how many sled he goes through in a year?
I noticed at 3:20 to 3:24, a big hunk of bark missing off of one of those trees and there were previous tracks there that were more than likely his?
Not taking anything away from the guy, he is probably the best in the world right now, just what they usually show us is the edited version.
