My girlfriend and I decided to ride from the house up to "The Last Resort" to watch the football game and have dinner. The Last Resort is as its name implies, the final point of any services. Beyond it are miles and miles of trails and back country, and eventually the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. We stuck to the groomed trails as there isnt enough snow for off trail riding until you reach the back country, which Lindsey wasnt about to go into!
The trails were groomed on Thursday I think, so they werent too bad.
We rode the ridge for a ways and were able to get to this view point looking into the Teanaway Valley. The real back country stuff starts in the mountains in the distance.
A little off trail riding. Other folks had ridden here, so there were tracks to follow without fear of hitting objects.
We made several loops down into the valley, then back up to The Last Resort in time for the game. The bar was pretty busy, and, the Seahawks WON!!
I decided we should fuel up since its easier at the pump then carrying gas cans home later. Its not too far to get home if we "B-line it" straight back. Sorry its blurry.
A pleasant days ride. More snow at these elevations would be nice, but its sufficient for some easy trail rides for now!
