I have a 2009 nytro xtx, doing some mods to it....going to stud track just down center....factory track is clipped every third hole, someone has recommended that I clip every hole if I am going to stud ???? Help me out here ,,,,,good idea or not needed just adds un needed weight to sled ?????? Thanks

Are you going to open up the other windows and run extros? If no its not necessary, its not really necessary to clip when you run extros stock. Recommended though. If your running stock drivers just stud it and your good to go.

No, just going to stud track, spoke with Chris @ Schmidt this morn on something else and he had the same thought ....no need to clip....Thx

I swaped to a full clipped track and my hyfax now last for +2 seasons.

Fully clipped is the way to go. No rubber burning smell on warm days and better hyfax wear, less resistance, and better top speeds. I have an 09 xtx and had both.

I have a Powerclaw 153 and will fully clip. I can smell rubber on cold hard pack days. I have clipped all my tracks and the hyfax lasts longer.

The money and time u spend clipping, you could invest in some wheels putting them in the right spots.

I've added wheels to my nytro when I got it in 2011, and have put 5000km on the hyfax and they are still over half. Its the only way IMO.
edit: I should note i used all normal Yamaha wheels and not the aftermarket company ones.

Once the clips heat up and the hyfax sticks to them, your done. Wheels don't do that.
