DuPont slides

I just put DuPont slides on my 13 xtx nytro. My track is clipped every third spot. I have seen some concerns with the duponts. Can anyone tell me what problems came about with not having you track clipped every spot? How many miles were they able to ride before track breaks?

Well lets see. I have read that you can burn up your track. If this is what can happen then why do they not post a warning that you must have a fully clipped track. So, I say I'm gonna try it. I have every third also and they are all new. I have been told good luck but we will see.

Break them in!

Make sure you follow the DuPont recommendation for breaking them in. I forget what the exact numbers are but you need to heat them up, then let them cool down. Then they will last forever regardless of what kind of track you have.

Sounds like I should be ok with my stock track. The big question is break in instructions. I never heard that you have to heat them up them cool them down. Where can I find the breakin instructions? Of course the dealer never mentioned anything about it.

If you have a 13 xtx then your track should be fully clipped. Unless there is something I don't know, I believe all of the 13's come with extrovert drivers which means all windows open and clipped. Every third spot has a guide clip with a shoulder on it, but then you have two flat clips in between.
I too am surprised that the 18 year old kid working at the parts desk didn't tell me anything about a break in process for my DuPont slides.
If there is any info about this it should be shared.

Idk about break in my dealer is top notch in service and they didn't say anything about breaking them in, I just drove it the way I always would.

I've heard of breaking in slides. I do this with the standard plastic slides. I would run down a ice covered road until the slides got hot, then dive off into a ditch of field, and drive slowly so the slides would get a lot of snow to cool them off. You could get quite a few more miles out of them that way.
