have a 2006 apex er,how do tou adjust the clip and is it hard.Mine is in the second position now and i would like it in the third

clip

if you have to go to the third clip, i would look into big boy spring and
shock rebuild, i had mine done by a super cross shock man, it works
awesome.

2 options,

#1 take the shock out and bring it to a authorize shock dealer, unless you have a shock/spring press, you must remove the spring of the shock to move the "C" clip...I've seen guys using coil compressors and damaging the shock body.

#2 let your local YAM dealer or a reputable shop do it...it can be dangerous if you don't have the proper equipement and end up costing big $$$

The spring on the ER is NOT the problem...it's the valving. The spring on the GT is the one that many are finding is too soft. I would highly recommend having it revalved FIRST. Then if you still feel you need it stiffer try moving the clip but the recommendation by yamadog1 to go to the next heavier spring would be your best bet. To have your ER's 46mm KYB shock (excellent shock by the way) revalved by Pioneer it's $59.99 and you will think you bought a brand new sled!
