Clunk when clutch engages

I have been hearing a clunk when my clutch engages and it has been getting louder. Does anyone have any idea of the cause? and fix. Does the chain need to be tightened?

just did my first oil change this weekend. found my chain adjuster to be 2 full turns out. track stretched quite a bit also.
