The bar I have 42421 has a notch where the secondary shiv fits into but it appears like the alignment is way out and in my manual the bar looks as if it doesn't have the notch for the secondary shiv to sit in.Any help would be great.

We sell clutch alignment tools and for this type of clutch there should not be a notch in the tool for the sheaves to sit in at least in our opinion. Our Clutch alignment tool is made for all RX-1 and Apex models including the attak and include step by step instructions to align and set belt deflection. You can check it out under Fix Power Sports. If I had the answer on yours I would gladly provide but have not seen notches for the sheaves to sit into in a alignment bar unless that it is how it is set up to tell you where your alignment is suppose to be but i would not think so. Sorry I could not help more.
MEAT: It sounds like you are using the same tool that I got from Maxximum Performance for my SRX's.
If you measure from the thin part that goes against the rear of the primary clutch to the thick part that goes against the secondary clutch its 15mm.
If you use the notched section that goes against the secondary clutch you will be off an additional 3mm.

c to c
and when you use the bar with the two 1/2 moon,s cut out it just drop,s over the primay clutch center and over the jack shaft (after removeing secoundery clutch) this give,s you the c to c no guess work. if it does not fit the c to c is off and must be ajusted .
