clutch kit

i just found the instructions. They say pull 1/2 the bolts out then due the rest slowly and evenly. They didn't mention if there was any tension

Thanks XT

what kinda kit is this? how does it affect the rpms?

It brings the rpms down to where the power is.(I forget what peak power rpm is exactly)that way you arent going to be banging rev limiter and wasting good power. It also lessens engine braking a little.

I have never had my sled bounce of the limiter so does that mean I shouldnt buy this kit? I thought it would up the revs?

I am running the Ulmer kit, getting 11,600-11,900 for rpm... the kit greatly reduces engine breaking, which i love!!!!! I get to use my break now which is more controlable than using the engine breaking... b4 i put the ulmer kit on my other phazer I about flew over the bars when i lifted off the throttle... i feel much more in control of the breaking, i like that!!!lol

There you go.Dyno shows that that is where the power is.If everything else is good and you are revving higher than 11,900 then you need to do clutching.I have also found running it to the lower side of rpm's saves gas noticably.

so, does it affect engagment rpm? how can i tell if i already possibly have this kit? thanks

No not noticeably. Its still real smooth engagement. You could visually tell by looking at the weights in primary.Stock all 3 holes had rivets in them.Ulmers is a different profile and no rivets.I dont remember what color stripe was on the secondary spring but I believe both Ulmers and stock are black.
