I'm installing a ulmer stage 1 clutch kit. The primary install went great but the 2ndary is giving me a little headache. The ulmer kit says it comes with a new spring. But my kit didn't come with one. I called allen and he says that I just reuse the 2ndary spring that was in my sled.
So here is my ?'s. The service manual says that spring should be 2.95". Mine is 2.75". At what point do you say it is time to replace that spring due to sag? Did anybody else get a 2ndary spring with their clutch kit? Thanks!!!

Each clutch kit is tailored to the particular person ordering it. For your rider weight and with the header pipe installed we do not change the secondary spring and we remove the spring from the price of the clutch kit then when ordered.
I just pulled a brand new Pink secondary spring off the shelf and measured it with a digital calipers. Measuring it from one tang straight across to the lowest point of spring it measures 2.771" total length.

Allen thats 2.7715 lol.
how many miles are on the sled? if your in there, for the price of a secondary spring i would just buy a new stock one if thats what needs to be run in the kit. mine had about 6k on it and i seemed to be delaminting belts. put a new spring in and seems to fix the problem.

Allen, don't you have work to do? Is that all you do all day is play on ty4stroke? Thanks for setting my worries aside. Sorry 2nd guessing!!! I'll hold off on replacing my 2ndary spring.
