anything i should look for / grease or whatnot on the clutch assemblies? 2010 vector ltx 1600 miles. going over things now getting ready for the season. never messed with sled clutches before didn't know if the little rollers on the primary should be greased which would require removing them. that and the fact i would think most if not all grease would be slung out anyhow. am going to replace the belt with a new stock one and clip the old one to the shield for a spare. thanks

I don't think you want to grease anything on the clutches. All I do is wash the primary and secondary with HOT water with Dish soap in it. Then I use a brush to clean them up. Some people use brake cleaner instead.

Only other thing I do is, use emery cloth ( wet ) and lightly clean the sheaves. If you do this, make sure you do it from the edge to the center, so you are going perpendicular to the belt.

the only place you apply grease is on the secondary shaft, just a thin coat to make sure you have that side to side deflection,i say this cuz it seized on me on my old warrior, had to hammer it to get it off,for the rest, blow them off both with air, best way to clean them imo

BEST way to keep the clutches in tip top shape is to disassemble them completely and clean every part, nook and cranny.

Brake cleaner, dishwasher, air, etc can just push the crud deeper into the moving parts.

I learned the hard way ($$$) and now for $45 I have my clutches gone thru before the season starts.

1600 miles is nothing to these clutches. blow the belt dust out with an air hose and ride.

What he said ^^^^^^^^ I have the original clutch in my Viper with over 13,000 mi. on it. The ONLY work done to it was truing the faces at 9,500 and new primary springs every 3500 mi. Blow it out, scuff the faces and run it!! The Attak with 7500 mi on it looks like new. Same level of maintainence. and it's been heavily boondocked for the last 4000 mi

that's pretty much what my intentions were, just wanted to ask and see if i was missing anything. i'm just gonna do that and eyeball it to make sure there's nothing obvious, can't see it needing any more than that with 1600 on the clock.

I've never cleaned snowmobile clutches. Only removed a broken one on a friends sled. I have an 03 Rx1 with 3000 Miles on it, anything I should do with it? Also have an 05 with 700 miles.
