I've put 8000 miles on my RTX and will be replacing numerous regular wear items ....bearings, bushings, etc. While I have read the high mileage reports, other than complete sheave replacement, there is no mention of clutch component replacement ....weights, rollers, bushings, etc. Are the composite bushings in the primary and secondary not replaceable? If they are ......should they be at 8000 miles?
Thanks, gng

I don't hear much either about changing clutch parts on a Yamaha. I owned Cats for years and the clutches needed new bushing and bolts every 1500 miles or they would ruin the clutch spider. I have 6500 miles on my 06 Apex and the clutch is as tight as it was when new. I have had similar luck with my Doo clutches also. Just use compressed air to blow out all the dirt and belt dust on the Yamaha and doo clutches and they will be fine for thousands and thousands of miles.

take them apart and inspect all bushings for wear or excessive clearance i would say probably the secondary bushing may have some the primary other than pins and bushings witch are boubtfull my fathers rx1 has 20000 km or 14000mi and has done little other than periodical cleaning of the primary, the secondary he replaced the cam sildes a couple of times and it does have bushings that are slightly worn

I have 9000 miles on my 07 RTX and other than the secondary helix buttons everything seems GREAT!! primary is just like the day i bought it... these motors are so silky smooth that the clutch dosn't seem to get "rattled" around like a 2 stroke twin and seem to last for thousands of miles longer.. just regular cleaning and inspection should be fine...
