I have found the Dragon suspensin with Walker Evans remote rez shocks for 500 bucks.
Maybe no more wheel issues and hyfax wear.
But Im really really torn on this.
I would love to find a Dragon suspension for 500.00 do they have more then one? That would be a great replacement and durable too. Maybe Yamaha should sub contract Polaris to build there suspensions....LMAO....I couldn't resist, I doubt they would lay down their pride for that to happen.

Its supposedly a very easy swap. Just have to make new plates for the rear bolts, the fronts remain the same.
As said, Im kind of torn on this......but I think ultimatly I cant go wrong with this. Everything I read they praise the dragon suspension, other things not so much.

If you can find a Dragon rear skid for that price then do it. The skid with Walker Evans shocks is very very capable.Kevin Garceau said:Im seriously considering placing the 07 Dragon suspension in my 07 RTX - for the cost of all the upgrades to the RTX suspension it would be a wash.

It's not without issues either though. The track slapping on the top of the front shock eventually wore completely through the eye of the shock, leaving me stranded. The torque link also stripped out meaning the rear torque arm had to be replaced.
All in all though, the suspension is the best thing about a Polaris, and if you can put the skid in your Yamaha I think you'll be very happy.
how about a 05 Mach Z skid will that fit and is it an easy install ???

Apex and RTX skid replacement
Wouldn't it be cool if there was a sticky post with the various rear skid options to put in our sleds and the process for each skid? This way an owner or potential owner could go to this post and see the pro's and cons of each skid bolted into the Apex chassis from every manufacturer and aftermarket options. We could see the trouble or ease of install and the out come. This way if we have a Skidoo skid available we can go there and see how to install this skid, if we have access to a Polaris or TeamFast we can go there and see exactly what we need. There are a lot of guys on here who have put every skid known to man in this chassis and if they were all combined that would be an awesome resource.
( since almost all Yamaha owners hate the stock skid ) Just an idea...

Although I think thats a great idea - it may look kinda bad in a yammi only forum.
I figure most people are very happy with their skid. Im just a big fat #*$&@ that ride the crap outta my sled and am merciless as far as letting up. My wife couldnt be happier, and I think thats the case for 85% of the yammi riders. Im no Sno-X guy by any means, but at 275lbs the skid just doesnt work.. Shocks fade, spring rates are gone, poor valving etc. I bought the RTX for a reason. I just never really settled into a middle ground with it.
I will take tons of pics and share pics. I have been told its an easy swap.

Same reason why I purchased the RTX SE. It looks to be a beefier suspension. I pray that I won't have to swap out the suspension for my ZX2.

Guys, there is a sticky set up for the purpose of discussing different suspensions in the Tech section under Skis, Studs, and aftermarket suspenions.

I updated it this morning with some experience/notes gained from my conversion. Probably should have done that at the end of last season.
I'm a big guy, bought the RTX for that reason too.
