Anybody out there running bigger clutch rollers to compensate for some of the clutch weight noise? I know most people just deal with it but if there is a easy way to fix this I would do this. Wondering if another yamaha sled runs bigger rollers that will take care of some of the gap between the weights and the rollers. If you got some part numbers that would help as well!!! Any input will be appreciated...
There are a number of threads out there that address this...in the end you have to live with the clutch noise. The noise appears to be coming from 2 primary sources: 1. clutch stub shaft spline play and 2. clutch roller pin slop. Schmidt bros has a quiet clutch kit for about $10 that will address source #2. You could probably make your own if you have access to small/thin enough washers to put on one or both ends of the roller pin as required.
I used the Schmidt bros kit and got somewhere between 40% - 60% noise reduction.
