Hi everyone
Well I know that this was talked about before and I would really like to get info on how to fix this terrible problem with my clutch.I had an 06 RS venture with 32000km on it I endured the rattle all that time.Had sled in to dealer with the shim job and lasted for a few miles.I bought an 2010 venture and the rattle came on this one at 600 km.
Is there anyway to fix this problem even if I have to change the clutch with something else?
Maybe my days of rattles are limited may it's time to look at the competation for sled in near futue.
This pass weekend we stopped at a shelter and everyone was looking and asking what I had in under the hood a baby rattle....
I need answers ..Dealer says it's normal...I say not in this day or age.
Thanks for your help and info

Well I stopped at my dealer and asked him again about a fix.He told me if I wanted to spend money for nothing he would put this shim kit and he said it would fix it for about 500 km after that rattle again.
There is no way that there is that much clearence between the two shafts plines.i would imagine if there was that it would break because any plat on torque side results in something breaking.
If you listen to Cat,Pol and Bomby the sound is sweet and we have to live with jingle bells
Come on guys lets put pressure on here get rid of the rattle.

I've been told that a Polaris clutch on the Vectors stops the clutch rattle.

The Polaris primary will do just that. It will stop that 3 cylinder cadence if you feel it is a problem. When my clutch needs to be rebuilt, I will switch over to that clutch. Call Tom Hartman who is a TY Advertiser and discuss that issue with him.

X2!
My dealer's fix for the rattle:
Remove and grind down the dowels so there is no play when installed.
Install old style SRX plastic primary weight washers to take the side to side slop out of the weights and rollers.

What do you mean by dowels?

The part that the rollers and weights pivot on. Parts micro fiche calls it the collar.

well this is funny
a problem that just about everyone has and nothing to fix it with. You would think that Yamaha would change the clutch or what ever generates this rattle over the YEARS.I guess I will stop complaining and rethink on what I will buy next.

So far so good.
Only 2500 km done this season & still no noise, none.
-Custom packing, not yam shims
-O-rings at roller pins bolts
-Mylars to fill gaps between weight washers
-I also use 8FA weight... if that matters
