Clutch rattle

http://www.hartmaninc.com/

IMO - contact Tom Hartman at the above link. Rather than dink and fiddle with stuff, he should be able to get you dialed in right from the start. ;)!

My '06 Vector was a little noisy, but now '12 Vector is alot louder. It's on the verge of being irritating when its warm & idling. I may try to fix this myself.

Wow!!!
to change from the Yamaha rattle clutch to a Polaris P85 clutch it is going to cost me $1000.00
This has made my next sled easier to decide ....to bad
Does anyone else share the same feeling as me or am I just complaining for nothing
We went out at a membership appreciation get togther this past Sathurday and all of Yamy owners complained about the same rattle and I did not even bring it up!!
once again thanks

A couple of years ago when I was toying with the idea of using a Polaris clutch, I found nice used ones for around $100. No way I would pay new retail price for one!

Personally, I only notice mine at idle, and from what your saying, I think your's might be a lot louder which leads me to believe you may have something else going on that most on here don't?

Maybe time for a good cleaning/rebuild?

I only have 1900 Km on my 2010 and the rattle is from the primary clutch at idle and up to 4000rpm.Had dealer clean, measure and put kit in it at about 600 km that lasted one short run so return it to dealer and was told live with it!!
My 2006 had over 30000km and got the clutch completely rebuilt including changing sheaves because of grooving.I got the rebuilt done 3 times at dealer.
Not blamming dealer for the problem I am blamming Yamaha for not even trying to fix a problem they have at our expense .Yamaha shim kit works for about one good run after that it's jingle bells again :o|

Complaining for nothing. So it rattles ,not hurting anything, add washers on pin

If alittle rattle is going to make you get a differant brand that's silly

Stopped in at the dealer in Cochrane Ont last winter and they suggested the CVTech Powerbloc 80 Clutch. Has anyone tried this?

Agreed, you can only hear it at idle. Just get on it and ride. G.B.

i guess i dont understand the thought behind it either, it doesnt affect anything on the sled, you only hear it, even though it rattles on the 3 cylinder engines, it is the most reliable stock clutch out there
