Planning a trip for the Black hills, approx elevation 6000 feet. No major hill climbing going to be done, just a whole lot of boondocking. So question is what is the minimal amount of clutch work going to have to be done? Is it just rivets, and can I get away with just removing one out of each weight? Any help will be nice.
Thanks
Thanks
I ordered a clutch kit from hartman as we are going to the black hills next week. Tom is very knowledgable and is sending me a setup for both 1-1000 feet and then 5000- 8000 feet.

Here is what I run in mine for that elevation
Rivits 3.1 gr heel, 2.4 gr center, and .8 grams outer.
Primary spring B/S/B (stock)
43/39 helix, stock spring, 70* twist (if I remember correctly)
19/40 gearing (19/39 or 20/39 would also work if you run the stock track)

I had mine out west and had the stock clutching for a day and then had the rivits changed for the elevation. Stock @ 1,000FT changed to 8-10,000FT.
Was a little change but not enough of a performance increase to deal with the hassle. Next time i will leave the flatland rivits in.
