so first let me say i loved my stock clutching, very low smooth engagement, always worked great for me boondocking etc.
However, i just did the yamaha supercharger(mpi) kit, low boost no intercooler.
also did mpi radiator delete, massive rear tunnel coolers.
undertunnel exhaust was already on.
tried it like that per mpi's advice. not enough load, hit rev limiter easy peasy.(deeep powder snow)
so now i just finished installing a 1.75" x144 backcountry trying to give it more traction, stock drivers, no extroverts(never cogged before)
literally just came in the house from shop, aligning track tommorow, and test running it. still have some deeeeep drifts to fart around in and 18" setup snow.
anywayz, the yamaha goody box came with weights for the clutch, rivets, gears, chain etc.
problem is, theres a elevation chart and riding type yada yada, nothing really says what i should do per say.
what have you guys done just charging vs what are guys doing for the track swap?
mpi recomended trying it like it is once the track is on, as most guys are gearing up for the charger, and down for the bigger track, so the load might be about right.
anyone have any info to chime in??

Try looking in the mountain forum. They might be able to help you.

I also just installed the same MPI kit on a XTX. Was also hitting the limiter on the first ride. I bought a Handful of Yamaha's heaviest steel rivets and ended up over the corse of a couple rides installing the big steel rivet in all three holes. The clutch performs great now, 8900rpm max at WOT. I ride between 2500-5,000 ft elevation and have the mountain kit pulleys.

Sweet.
The new track helps, but it still hits rev limiter.
Figured more weight on the arms would do it.
Worse part is the rivets are in RI.
Do you have to remove the clutch arms to put weights on?
Do they go on with a traditional rivet gun or are they old scool peen over type.
Ive only peeked into the clutching/gearing box that yammi sent with my kit.
