I have a chance to buy a 05 primary clutch from Airwolf for my 04 mountain or should I just order a kit for the 04 primary. Right now when I nail the throttle the revs go to 11,400 pretty fast. The 05 clutch is from a 121 rx-1. Any ideas? is the 05 clutch that much better?

Add some weight to the primary weights. Maybe back secondary off to 60 degrees. If you are hitting 11k on the flat, maybe wait to see how it is on a hill. It may be alright. A properly set mountain sled will power through the clutch easily on the flat.

Unless you are a radical rider, there is no need to buy clutches. The stock clutches work good.

I am by no means a radical rider just like to play in the deep stuff where no mountain of snow is going to bury me alive.

I changed my 03mtn to 05 specs and reved way to high. Added wt and hit the right revs on the trail but only around 9K at altitude and climbing. Finally backed off a little on the rivets and I'm right around 10.2 climbing. I agree that if you set it for the trail you'll we low rpm on the hill. I have the O-P-O primary, White secondary, 8BU-10 wts with 7grams of rivets in them. It seems perfect at 4,000-6,500 feet.

$250 is not a bad deal for Airwolfs 05 clutch, the clutches however are the same. It is the calibration that is different. Either choice you make you'll need to calibrate your clutch to your sled at your elevation.

OK then thanks I think I will just leave it the way it is then. Thanks everyone.
