I need help guys, im getting ready to go to Wyoming a week from tmrw, and i have my xtx at the dealer trying to get the clutch setup and they call and say inorder to go west i have to put a different primary spring in, and far as wieghts go they cant just simple swap they have drill out the rivots and then reinstall. Then when i get back that means they have to reinstall new rivots! This just sounds dumb as pissin into the wind. I'm coming off of a polaris and to go west all i ever did was just swap weights and i was ready to go! So what i'm asking is that is there an easier way like just swaping or does it have to be this way?????

:o|

Buy an extra set of stock weights. Have 1 set up for out west & 1 flat land set up. You can change em in 1/2 hour on the sled.

when you buy them from yamaha they come empty. you have to buy the rivets seperate.
i agree with turk on the two weight set up. have that for our nytros, nice and easy, no drilling pounding pressing ect... just swap out the arms and primary spring. ski

depending on the elevation, here is what you need.

for 6,000 - 8,500ft
outer rivet-steel 13.3 ----90261-06019-00
center rivet-steel-10.3-----90261-06015-00
inner rivet-- leave it open
also keep the stock primary spring in
but you might want to drop to a 20 top gear

for 8,000- 10,000ft
outer rivet - steel 13.9-------90261-06034-00
center rivet leave it open
inner rivet leave it open
need a 19 top gear
keep stock primary spring

Both elevations can use the stock chain

Riding out in the Snowy Range i believe that is about 9,000-12,000, whats the setup then?

awesome!!!! mines stock skis and 1.25" track i think if i dont stray to long in the deep stuff i should be fine. Do i need to change the top gear or would i be ok? just trying to keep the shop bill down? Thanks so much for the help guys it's very much appreciated!!!! i was about ready to start pulling my hair out!

as long as you don't stray off to much, you would be fine leaving it all stock, a little less power, but it will still be fun, you will still be able to wander off trail a bit and do some carves, You'll be amazed how much that 1.25 track will go through.
