Clutching MPI SC/Dalton adjustables

I have been searching up clutching for a couple days here....i know ill need to change things up with my current proline setup which is setup for my stock motor,DPYR 62s,Dalton RED primary,Dalton RED 2ndary,and Dalton/PL helix.

I love the idea of Daltons Adjustable flyweights.. Is anyone using them for boost around 11psi?.....it seems alot of people here run the supertips.

Can i get away with the dalton adjustables(not sure what weight yet) and keep the rest of my setup same? I just like the idea of the quick adjust slugs,and in past have had good luck with the DPYR profile.

or should i just talk to Allen and get an entire new Supertip KIT ready to go?

If your spending the $ on the SC, definelty call Ulmer for a clutch setup. Supertips work awesome for your application. Not only that but tuning with OEM Rivits on the Dalton weights is a pain in the rear and not very easy to do in the field. See if you can find some used 60 gram base supertips (or Heavy Hitters) for around the same $ those Daltons are. As for the rest of your setup. Stock rollers are fine as is stock primary spring. Secondary will need attention as you will need more helix and possibly stiffer secondary spring (depending on application)

I got a set of Supertips fs for a boosted sled. 60 gram base weight with enuff washers to get em up to 88 grams. $175 CDN shipped in Canada.

I am running the new dalton adjustibles with 10 PSI boost on ashphalt.

They were the only weights that I used that got rid on my belt slip off the start line. I forget the part number but they were the heavy set. I seen a set for sale in the clasifieds on here last week.

Please note that supertips and heavy hitters did work quite well in the sled also, but both slipped the belt near the bottom of the clutch.

I love the Dalton's.

Dan, you'll need the heavy base weight for the supercharged sled using the Dalton's. NA weight no where near heavy enough.

No im talking about the Dalton ADJUSTABLES(not my current DPYRS)...they are easily adjusted on the trail(no taking anything apart) in seconds.

thanks for info....its good to hear someone who is using them....I spoke to Dale and he recommended the DTYA -2 adjustables for my setup.

Just wondering which BASE WEIGHT adjustables you are using for 10lbs.

that is the thread i searched up initially...very good reading!....i just noticed it was an older thread and hadnt heard too much about guys running these weights....so was hoping to hear more good feedback since i like dalton parts alot and wanted to try these for my SC setup.

here is the ones Dale suggested - Dtya-2 is usable from 79-86.4

also,im thinking my 50/42 Dalton helix will need to be steeper with SC @ 11lbs.....thinking more like 53/45 now. thoughts?

Hey Dan, I have the same set-up and John from pro-line has alot of experience in 10psi boosted apexes, I am getting his set-up for my attak because I love my smaller set up for my n/a apex. (Same as your old set up on your rtx) The ease of changing weights with the daltons is awesome when you ride in changing conditions. The thing with clutching is that there are a hundred ways to get to the same point. CVT is a theory not a science.
