Hello all. I have a 2003 RX-1 and need some opinions on clutching. My local Yammy dealer is suggesting a Dalton clutch replacement but a friend is saying to just replace the spring. Does anyone have experience on this topic?

I have should have done that before posting, I'm new to this site but not new to all sites. I thought of it as soon as I posted. Thanks.

does someone have a link to black John's setup? I tested this setup back to back with the stock one and picked up 4 mph on a gun! Great setup for little money. Off hand I THINK its o-s-o spring, 14.5 mm rollers, 5\16" washers spacing the helix, 137.5 mains, needles dropped one position. Am I close?

After reading the past posts on this topic, I still cannot figure out what will work. There is so much info on here I can't seem to decipher. Will a spring alone give me any advantage? If so, which one should I use.

Here's my set up on my 04 Warrior
Primary Clutch: OSO spring, 14.5 mm rollers
Secondary Clutch: Silver Spring @70 degrees, shimmed with 5/16 lock washers.
Engine: 4 TPI valves with 160 main jets, Green Holtzman Springs, NGK CR10EK Spark Plugs
Track: SLP anti-wear pads.
This is a very inexpesive set up for the performance gain that you get

Just curious, with this setup what kind of performance gains have you seen. I need to upgrade my 05 warrior with some mods this summer and would love to gain 3-5 sleds in 1000' if possible. Thanks for the info.

I run right alongside my buddy's 06 Mach Z up to 100 MPH and then he gains mere inches. I also run close to even with the new Apex.

Yes! But I lightened the outer by drilling larger holes in the rivets!
I'm going to put back the stock 15.6mm rollers to bring the RPM up to try that! I'll be going back to Quebec the week of Feb 19th.
