I just installed a cobra track with 198 1.450 gold diggers. While I had the jack shaft off I opted for the whal brothers extrovert drivers. I went for a short ride and noticed that the driver seems to be tight on one track clip and loose on the other side. The side that is tight has some decent wear on it. Seems that the extrovert has worn down and the plastic is pushed to the sides of the driver. When the drivers were pressed on I made sure that both arrows were pointing in the same direction. I have not installed the forth wheel kit but it is on order. Is this normal break-in or should I be concered? Could it be that the track is not tensioned straight and the clips are the only thing keeping it in place? I ran the track fairly tight (1 inch sag) for the first ride because I was concerned about the stud clearance. I did get some damage on the exhaust bracket and 1 mark on the y pipe. Originaly I tried to add 1/4" plained hyfax for tunnel protection but it caused the track paddels to hit so I hod to removed it.
Anyone with this or a similar set up that can help??????

I have the same with megabites, Try cutting those slides down to 1/8". Check your track clearance on both sides you might be off-center. Keep it at the 1" tension setting. When you get into the bumps, set your suspension as such to be safe. Definately put on your 4th wheel kit and maybe even a marginal kit or two to help with hy-fax wear. Sounds like alot to ask, but once you get this set-up right the rewards will be worth the work. This combo of studs and track truly makes this sled a decent crossover, add some skis and it only gets better.

I do have simmons gen 1 with 3/8 shims and bergstrom triple pts.
Much better floatation and rails in the trails. Downside slow speed requires input like a post hole auger.

Thanks for the reply. You have no tunnel isuses with yours? You have mega bights 1.450 on a 1.325 cobra? 4th wheel kit and marginal snow on yours?

no other ideas on the "out of phaze" drivers??????
the 4th whell kit is on and there is still 1/4 difference side to side. (looks like it was 3/8 before theh wear in the one driver.)
the track is tensioned correctly
Any help appreciated

Contacted Whal Brothers today They said Yamaha dealer did not press the drivers on straight. They are sending me out one new antiratchet driver. THANKS WHALBROTHERS! Too bad yamaha dealer could not get it right ($150 to press on drivers)They sure created a lot of work for me (drop the jackshaft again. ) Well at least Whal Brothers stepped up to the plate to fix there mess up. Thanks again!

We used an old piece of track to line up the new drivers. A word of advice with those size studs, check your track tension every ride.
