I have a 2009 Yamaha Apex RTX and I am replacing the track with a fully clipped Camoplast Predator 1 1/4. I have the sled torn down and ready to install the new track. While I have it apart should I istall the Wahl Brothers extrovert drivers? Do you only run the 2 Wahl Brothers internal external drivers versus all 4 (2 Wahl Brothers extroverts and 2 stock inside drivers)? Is there any issues with track bowing in the middle with running only two drivers? Last question, do you press these off and on with a hydraulic press? Sorry lots of questions.

Yes put them on now. You only run the two external drivers. And yes you have to press them on and off. The track bowing thing if it dose it I don't feel it. Lol

Here is what I have come up with. The Skidoo part number is 504152502. These are extrovert drivers that fit a 2007 MXZ800XRS as identified in other ty4stroke links. On Ronnies fische they show as a 10T driver. The other links on ty4stroke show them as 9 tooth 2.52. So what is right? The Wahl Brothers are $81.95 each and the Doo's are $53.49 each. Please help the rookie!

I'm using a very similar setup. I've posted the part numbers on here somewhere. They are the 9-tooth, 2.52" combination drivers from BRP. I'm not sure what year/model Revs they came on, but they are identical to the ones on my buddy's '07 MXZ 800X-RS.

As for the calculations, we basically measured the centre distance between the old drivers and placed the center of the new drivers on that line. I finally came to a measurement from the chaincase side end of the shaft to the edge of each driver. It wasn't too difficult and it ended up dead nuts on both sleds we did.

Hope that helps.. i'll keep looking for the exact measurements.

One last note, since the tracks are the same 15x121, fully clipped, what difference would it make if it was a 9 tooth or 10 tooth driver? The windows are the same distance apart as are the drive lugs. As long as the shaft is the same size on the Yami as the Doo, they should work, right?
