Hi everyone,
I experienced a few small issues with my sled today, although she still runs fine with regular performance. I rode the rest of the day and I'm wondering if I should be OK to continues for the next 2 days. I think I should be fine. If anyone has any thoughts on these issues noted below that would be great.
- Fault code 14: Cylinder#1 (clutch side) air intake pressure sensor: hose system malfunction (clogged or detached hose). I should note that while I was removing the airbox this past spring (to access starting motor through front frame removal), I forgot to unhook the hoses running to but sensors and cracked off the nipple (??). I glued them back together and they visually look OK, No visible Blockage. This was the first ride since then and the sled ran for about 10 km, and idled for close to a half hour (warm-up, loading trailer, post oil change, etc) before the code flashed.
- Low idle: Some times but not always the sled would idle low, about 1600 rpm, down to 1300-1400. Three or four times she dipped below 1300 and the engine died. When this happens, it is a bit hard to restart and I have to jump on the throttle right away to keep it from dying. However, other times the engine idled around 1800 like it's supposed to. I'm going to adjust the idle up to about 1900 rpms to see if that makes a difference for tomorrow.
- Small backfire: When I let off the throttle and deccelerate, I can hear 1-3 small backfire pops, however they are not very loud.
I'm wondering if any of these issues could be interelated. I have seen the other post about the decel backfire, where someone experienced error 13 which is the air intake pressure sensor error. I also note that an exhaust leak (donuts) could be the source of this issue.
I think I'm going to ride it tomorrow, I'll let ya know how it turns out!
Thanks,
JP
