Last Saturday at 11:30 pm Outside of Boulder Junction on Trail 8 E. I stop my 2006 Attack at an intersection to check my map / location. When I went to start my sled it started a very low rpms around 500 to 600 rpms and the warning light came on and code 36 flashed with an engine symbol showing. It was - 20 not including wind chill. Towed machine back to Boulder junction to JJ"s Bar it was around 1:30 in the morning when we arrived. I was about 40 miles from my truck and trailer. The owner / manager said they would leave the bar open until I returned with the truck and trailer. A good friend loaned me his machine and stayed at the bar. Another good friend and i rode back to get the truck and trailer. Got back to JJ's bar around 3:00 am and loaded my machine on the trailer with the help of my friends and some strangers. I was lucky this was my last day in town. Point of me telling every one my story is this. No matter what never ride alone and always carry a tow strap. Ok now to tell you what the Yamaha Dealer said was wrong and why it flashed code 36. They said # 4 cylinders spark plug cap was corroded. Does that seam correct ? Also thank you to JJ'S in Boulder junction and my Friends and Fellow Snowmobile riders that helped me out that night !

I ran into the same situation as well---checked all my plug caps and found that 3 out of 4 where loose. However that didn't fix my low RPM problem and my Code 36. What was wrong with mine was that I didn't have the intake boots from my airbox on the throttle bodys all the way!! Got that straightened out and really hav'nt had a problem since.

I also asked for info and ideas on Code 36 but like you said the code covers soo many possible problems that it is hard to pinpoint the problem. Always check the simple stuff first.

A little info:
