Code 43

I started my '13 xtx apex this am, -15 celcious in my garage warmed up drive around the house and on the truck. Trucked to our stageing area dropped the ramp turned the key and nothing, engine turned over but no flash up. Code 43 came on in the dash and the check engine light satayed on with the amber warning light. Called the local yamaha dealer and found code 43 was, " fuel system electrical sort" swapped out one of the three relays on the clutch side foot sturip that were the same and bingo, ignition. Is this a common problem with the fuel pump relays? Pump was not cycling with the code on.

Common problem. You need to go to the yamaha dealer and buy the new one. It is red and electronic so the problem is supposedly solved. Mine did it but no code came up. If you want, do a search on "fuel pump relay" on this site. Lots will come up. I relocated the relay to the outermost position so that if it happens again, it is easy to get at. I keep a spare relay on the machine. On the old one I would just warm it up in my hand and it would work perfect.
