Cold Air Intake Temperature Reading

I was thinking of this idea way back when I saw the first Winder in showroom spring of '17. Sure makes sense to me, the air will flow thru stock intercooler at a faster pace with an opening behind it. I think also aiding in engine bay temp reduction.

Those are pictures from my pal out if Illinois, 31cccat. He did this with his Thundercat this week. He posted them on HCS and Tommcat put them up on his website. I'll be doing the same to mine this coming week, but will be cutting out the whole center of it.

It sure makes sense to cool the intercooler better and get some more air to the inside of the primary and the engine compartment area. Lots of good stuff coming out of the woodwork now.

Yeah Tom has the custom sized frogskins now up on his site.....I always wondered about the air flowing better if it was open behind it.

Simple and cheap mod that should help toward cooling.

Dan off topic but have you noticed any houling running your chain tension at 1 turn the dealer set mine like that from new and said mine was the only one after 500 miles with silver in the chain case all the others were set to a turn and a half and no silver and now i can hear it houling at 30 to 40 mph

I had the dealer take the roller screws out they had lock tight on them he put lock tight on again inspected the whole chain case and said out of 7 sleds mine was the only 1 with silver in chain case after 500 miles chain was set to 1 turn out from 0 miles all others were set to 1.5 turns.Have you noticed any silver in yours after setting it like that? He says i should set it to 1.5 turns but that seemed loose looking at your video. The howling is the track i believe he set it too tight.

That looks like some good
Work!! Haha
Vents in front and rear of side panels probly needed too I’m thinking for clutch cooling.
Be able to try this weekend I hope

Silver is alum.....sometime with stock gearing the chain can slap on alum post....Did yours look worn anywhere? I know the 22 gear does a better job keeping dogleg out and chain further from alum post. Also 22 allows for much more room on tensioner bolt. But I do like the stock gearing better for trail riding corner to corner, snappier and less heat I feel.

I don't think it was slapping the aluminum post at 1 turn tension you would think all the ones set to 1.5 turns would do that but none of them had silver in chain case ,i never seen it but the dealer said it looked ok inside are you still running at 1 turn out

I just pulled CAI and put stock back on, has anyone tried to retrofit useing just pre filter material , it will make more power then CAI ?
