Running straight fuel and have experienced the nightmares of cold starting with my past 2 stroke outlaw sleds. Was thinking of just tossing an electric heating blanket over the engine compartment for an hour of so before I try to start it. Sounds silly but??? Was told that an inline coolant heater will screw with the fuel injection and foul plugs and or flood the engine.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have read that if you unplug the in line heater about 30 mins before starting the sled up it has cooled off enough not to mess with the fuel injection but warmed the sled up enough to start no problem.
Use Q-16 or Sunoco Maximal 116. No cold start issues with either fuel.
Or, on a four stroke, install a handle bar warmer on the oil pan and the oil sump. Then run a switch of the battery and heat everything up for a while before starting. Heat the oil, not the coolant and you won't have any problems with the start up Injection cycles

Ether is a killer for some of the sensors! Definitely would never use it on anything but an old carberated motor.
