Collett Communicators

Our group has used the 900s for awhile now and we love them, BUT the range is very limited. My guess is a mile in open areas but much less in wooded trails, maybe 1/4 mile. When we have a large group of say 6 to 8 riders we can become spaced so that rear rider can't hear the lead rider so we have to bark warnings and comments down the line so all can hear.

My wife and I use the platinum 900 and are very pleased with them. Like NY nitro said in the tight twisties the range gets cut down but we aren't usually far apart anyway. I ride with a group that all has them and we can usually hear from the front to the back people. They really make it nice to communicate stops, on coming sleds/hazards etc. You can't really carry on a normal conversation but you can get your message across. I have heard that the snofone's don't work as well as the 900's. IMO they are well worth.

I have sno-phones will not ride without them. My wife and I have no problem having a full blown conversation like talking on the phone. we don't ride that far apart so range is not an issue for us. I would definitly will not ride without them
