communicators

Any ideas or thoughts on best radio/communicators for the wife and I? We have modular helmets and would like to pick up a set.

Ive got a set of sena smh-10s.. And have liked them. Range isn't great in hilly woods, but they are good for several hundred yards no problem (500?), which Im never too far outside of anyways with a riding buddy.

I like it most of all for just listening to music when by myself now. If I go without it I miss the distraction in my head.. Seems quiet in there otherwise.. lol

Came real close to buying Sena or Uclear this year but sticking with helmet speaker and mic setup for FRS radios. Been using for 10 years. I also find the music is great to have. Otherwise I get bored in my helmet and can't remember the words to the songs I know and like. My rig came from MOTO-Comm.

We have had communicators for years now. I feel that it makes for a safe ride to warn your other riders of things and they have a groomer warning.

You don't specify if you're riding a 2-up or separate sleds. If a 2-up, I use the Moto-comm unit, specifically the the AB-1M. I chose this unit over the others for the following reasons:

1. It connects to my music (which is a 7" andorid tablet, which also functions as my GPS map, etc)
2. It has PTT for both rider and passenger (to xmit to the other sleds in the group).
3. It connects to any standard GMRS/FMS radio from Motorola, ect so you can chat between sleds and use the radio for any other purpose you desire in the off season.

It's certainly not the most advanced unit out there (and I believe is now discontinued), but for my requirements is pretty much the only game around.
