i have not seen too many of these write ups anywhere, so i was looking into getting a phazer (preferably RTX) this fall and doing a conversion too a 144 skid and "XTX" setup. what is the best way to go about doing this?
http://tracksusa.com/extension_packages.html
i found about half way down this page, there is a rail extension and 1.5 freeride track for 660 bones. i would like to still trail ride fairly well yet get off in multiple feet of powder and still play around.
what is the best place to get a tunnel extension? as far as quality and looks?

can someone list the best all around conversion "setup" that is needed to get the most out of the phazer with a STOCK MOTOR. i will supercharge later next winter

LOOKING TO HAVE THE ENTIRE CONVERSION LESS THAN 1500 DOLLARS BEFORE THE BOOST
my list so far is..
-tracks USA rail extension with freeride 1.5 track (660 dollars)
-WRP boards (189.00)
-lake effect 2-4 inch riser (65.00 for 2.5)
-custom exhaust(ill do that once suspension is complete)
-TUNER skis (140 a set minus carbides)
-tunnel extension unknown at this point..
-custom graphics of some kind

Tipped up rail extentions if you can find them. A pair of MTX rails would work also if you can find a cheap set. Stock or Aftermarket MTX bumper would be a good start for tunnel extention OR lengthen your stock one about 7" as the MTX one is TOO long for a 144" sled (good up to a 155" track). A 17 tooth upper gear for now will still let you get to 80mph.

is there a company that makes a tunnel extension? if not ill make my own but if there is a good looking kit ill do it that way..

The MTX tunnel is the same as the Short track tunnel with a longer factory bumper and "extension" to add the extra length. I Built my XTX the other way, bolted on a set of GT arms to my MTX to get a 42.5" stance and also has the bonus of an adjustable sway bar. I got lucky a found the whole GT front suspension for 300$ And a pair of adjustable Ohlins for 300$

And I'll add a bit more, You might come out ahead if you build an XTX the way I did. I've seen low mileage used MTX sleds in the low 3000$ range in my area and deals pop up on ebay for used A-arm to widen the front out then you can install the shock package of your choice. The Float 2 shocks are alot better than the shock Floats that come on the RTX and I've seen them as low as 550$ a pair, NEW, during the summer. I bought a new left over 09' MTX last year for 5700$, installed a a 144" Freeride for 540$, GT front for 300$, Ohlins for 300$, and a Fox Float center shock for 190$ so I have roughly 7000$ into my "New" Phazer XTX, and I kept all the mountain parts so I can install the skinny front again if I ever make it out west. If I have the time this summer I plan on tinkering with a 3-4psi pump gas turbo setup to bump me into 100-110hp range.

in my area it is not so easy to find an MTX variation of the sled.. if i could do it the way you did then i will, but otherwise i may be forced to start with a short track model and convert it from there..

tipped up rails will be a must on my build now after looking into it more!
