How difficult would this be ? I know I could extend a short track, and I think the seat would pretty much bolt up, but are the venture pipes longer ? Addind a seat jack isn't really the route I want to go.
Ideally I want what wasn't made, a 2up apex. Apeture? Ventex?
I want a high speed reliable trail beast. I've always liked the apex. All the demo ride I've had on them I liked them.

its alot of work. I did a rx1 years ago. One thing I would have done different is add another joint and mount to the exhaust instead of lengthening the pipe. I wonder after many miles how the longer pipe lasted.

I think it would be even more difficult now considering the EXUP system.

I want to take a Venture and put an Apex motor in it. I think that would be a killer sleeper! If you put a suspension with tipped up rails under it I think that it would handle the twists better when riding solo.

I've dreamed of an Apex or RX powered Venture since 03 when they first came out. Not going to happen I would say unless you build your own.
I'd say easier to start with an Apex! Move the muffler back in the tunnel to match Venture seat and Lengthen the pipe. Sounds easy but I know its not.
Or Move the muffler and plastics back to the back of the sled on an XTX. Pick up a second seat and out of the two seats build a custom longer seat with raised queen area. Get it custom apolstered!
I think I'm just going to add a Seat Jack and call it done.

Why not just get newer venture with the fi 130. They are fantastic engines.

The venture gt fi triple is an excellent sled. I've driven 3 of these so far. The wife even likes it, although she has yet to join me as a passenger on the actual demo rides.
As much as I like the venture gt, I can get an attak, or an apex with a worn track for several grand less than a venture gt, and have that sound and HP.
Viper, I'll need to read your thread about the rx1 conversion.
Does any one have any experience with a seat jack or the other roto molded seat option? If so, id live to hear it, especially on an apex. The wife likes how I have the proaction venture set for her, but I want more power, and more supension. And I want a more modern sled to boot.

I thought about the Venture it would have been nice to have a two up but I would have been unhappy on the lakes / powerlines and anything above 70mph! The Apex does not stop pulling hard till over the C note. Just hit 110 on the GPS (115 speedo) the other day. Then there is the sound of the 4, it is bar none just awesome!
I would beg borrow or steal the money to buy a Venture powered by an Apex engine from Yamaha! Unless they detuned the engine and then they could keep it. 160hp Venture would be a wet dream for me! It would bring me back to when I had my 1000 triple Thundercat powered Pantera Two up. I loved that sled! Nothing like a rocket couch!
