Anyone figure out if a coolant heater can be inserted to one of the coolant lines.
my dealer has said it’s not compatible as the cat cooling system differs from Yamaha but thought I would see What others say

I have one inserted into the hose going from front heat exchanger to water pump. The one that runs near oil filter. It fit right into that 1" line. I think it was one intended for an import car. It works great. I plug my sled in about 1-2 hours before riding (sled sitting outside on a 0 degF night) and in 2 hours when I start sled, coolant temp is about 75 degF. Easier on engine. It's even better on -15 to -20 degF nights.

I have wondered about this also. I was once told that this was not recommended because the warm water would trick the computer into thinking it was a warm engine and lean the fuel mixture starting. Not really a problem unless it was really cold. But in extreme cold you need the computer to richen up the air fuel ratio to compensate for the cold air. Made sense to me but I'm not a engineer .

If its not too much trouble is there any way that you could post or send a pic (pm me, I can send an email)?
I was told by my dealer early on the 'Cat' system didn't work with coolant heaters. I figured there has to be a way. So this is good news.
Had one on my nytro and it was awesome. Even thought the block was warm the ecu never had an issue and it always fired and was warm. There was barely enough time to get the helmet on before it started to over heat.
