i got my rx1 out the other day and there was coolent sitting in the valve cover where the coolent line coes in i believe is this common? whats the solution

A little corrosion on the brass fittings coming out of the cover is all I have seen. I would start looking for cracked, loose, or unplugged hoses. There aren't that many near the top of the motor. Check your fluid level, rad cap, and overflow line as well in case it spit some out when it got hot.

the coolant lines press into the cover and are sealed with a rubber o ring, and held in with the bolt. you might have to change the 0 ring, but remove it first, clean any corrosion and re-install with some lube on it. the tubes are just press fit into the cover.

When you get all done with it, you might want to consider pressure testing it, just to make sure you got the leak. Actually, you may want to do a pressure test to find it. But if you do not have the pump, then I would just fix it and idle it to 190 degrees F, or so, to make sure the leak is truly fixed.
