My brother has an over-rev on his XTX, which he rides 90% in powder. He doesn't seem to want to spend $350-$400 on a clutch kit with adjustable weights. He doesn't seem too bothered by it, but it annoys me just hearing it whenever we go riding.
What is a cheapest alternative to bring the revs down? It may need to come down 300-400 rpm. My understanding is the Nytro limiter is at 9400, and the target rpm is 8900(?) So maybe a reduction of 500rpm is needed?
I'm thinking that maybe a lower price will get him to bite... then he'll realize what kind of gains he'll get with clutching changes

Rivets are cheap for the stock weights. You could get by just adding a couple grams in rivets if it is not fully loaded. There are charts with all the rivet weights on totallyamaha's tech pages. I would post a link but I'm on my phone and it doesn't like browsing that sight. Finding out what it has now is probably the first step towards making improvements. There are plenty of guy's here that probably have good xtx set up's. Postings elevation would be good too, and any mods?

Plus hitting the rev limiter is not good for your motor; can damage it.
