I had SRX's and the covers fit and went on easy and great. The dealer gave me a custom cover, SMA-cover-61-00. I can not get it to go on, let alone make it fit. The box says it's for the Apex. Am I missing something? I tried fitting the handle bars first then the back and front then the other way around. I just gave up. Is the deluxe cover better fitting? Thanks

I have the same cover and it fits just fine. (sma-cover-61-00) I start at the front by wraping the front of the cover around the bumper. Then the soft flex over the windshield and work the cover towards the back. Mine fits somewhat tight but not so tight that I have to work hard at it. Try starting at the front.
My brother has the deluxe cover and it fits the same as my custom cover. The only difference I see between the 2 covers is that the deluxe has a protective under cloth that will help protect the hood and windshield. They seem to fit the same.

I have the deluxe cover for my attak. You have to start at the front then put it over one handle bar then the other. I find the straps a pain. The old RX-1 cover had male & female ends to them rather than hooks. Also the velcro straps don't work nearly as well as the male/female couplers did for the front shocks. I found these velcro straps short in the 1st place& just added A-arm protectors & now the velcro straps is too short to even connect. Paid over $200 & now I will have to have straps added to make it fit. The cover loosens up a bit after it has been on a few times & becomes easier to get over the handle bars. It is also easier to do it if the cover is warm, seems more flexible.. The only real differnce with the deluxe is that I got a soft cover that I put on the machine first to prevent scratching then put the outer cover over that one.
