Howdy guys. I bought a sled about a month ago from a guy and it is a cpr demo sled. Stage 1 with on ly 230 miles on it. Ive been having issues with the fuel pump being very sporatic. Sometimes when you are ripping around the lawn, runs real hard then cuts out just like you lost all fuel pressure then comes right back. Then yesterday leavin for the grass drags I let it warm up in the driveway and after about 2min it stalled and wouldnt restart, hence 0 fuel pressure. I checked all fuses that I could find, all good. I then moved the fuel pump, then it came back on and ran. Started right up. Then at the drags, it died and once again touched the pump, ran again. I am thinking the pump is going bad due to the non constant running. What kind of pump is this? Looks like a car fuel pump that would be easy to get.. I just want to get it running like it should to make it a reliable sled again....Anybody have any ideas????

Sounds like it could also be a lose connection or bad ground.

Yes, check your connection. They may have forgot to zip tie the connectors to the fuel pump.

I am going to pull the sled in the shop this afternoon to check it out. But if it was the case that the pump is for some unknown reason bad, what kind of or type pump is it??? Would it be one that Carquest would be able to get???
FYI: BlueByYou,
My sled is the EXACT same sled that you have, 07 RTX Cpr.... Same colors and everything.. Other than the fact that some scab stole the Fox Floats off it and put some cheapo coilovers on it......

It is most likely a bad connection. A couple of seasons ago mine did the same thing. They used cheap crimped connectors to wire in the fuel pump. I soldered the connection and have had zero problems with the pump .

You DID have the exact same sled. I have changed the graphichs yet again, and stretched out the sled.

I have been doing all the work on a friends cpr apex. It had simular sytoms, but it turned out to be the factory pressure regulator going bad.
It would run perfect until you start to build boost like 2-3 lbs and start to weeze and pop and bang. It was dropping to less than 10 lbs of pressure under boost and going very lean.
